With the recent snowpocalypse, it became rather clear that I needed some new hand warmers – my old mittens, made out of recycled sweaters had holes but were still wearable. Shoveling the 20+ inches of snow on Monday made them unwearable.
So I picked out some yummy malabrigo in the Mint colorway and cast on a pair of Bella’s mittens (ravelry link). Two days later, I had a new pair of mittens (and yes I totally wore the one mitten by itself until I completed the other one).
So, these mittens, as written, fit my freakishly long hands. The overall length is a bit much when you take them off and try to get them back on again. But they are serving their purpose, keeping my hands toasty toasty warm. I hope that they are the beginning of a new trend, knitting things for myself. I’m working on trying to clear my needles of WIPs so I can have more blog fodder soon! Next up for finishing? Erika’s sweater.
