Trying to remember these ten on tuesday things!

The topic for 7/20 is 10 Things to Bring on a Camping Trip.

But I don’t do camping. I hate being outside, I hate bugs, I hate sleeping in a tent.

So how about 10 things I’d rather be doing instead of Camping?

  1. Sleeping at home in my own bed with my kitty.
  2. Knitting in my house.
  3. Spinning in my house.
  4. Cooking in my house.
  5. Using the facilities in my house.
  6. Being in my house.
  7. Having a few panes of glass between me and icky bugs.
  8. Washing my hands with soap and water at an actual sink.
  9. Baking cupcakes.
  10. Anything other than camping.

The latest shipment for the Pigeonroof studios fiber club arrived yesterday so here’s a pic of the lovely superwash merino roving from Krista in the Squall:

And I’ll leave you with a shot of the thunderhead that was building when I left the gym last night:

So I've finished my first hat.  I am probably going to give it to one of my co-workers once i get back from going home this weekend.  It's about an inch too short – I want it to cover my ears a little better (cursed by my huge head).  I bought more Manos del Uruguay in colorway 114: bramble to knit a scarf (my so called scarf) and hat combo for my mom.  Hopefully I'll get the hat done while I'm at the airport/flying home/driving home tonight.  It took me about 4 hours for the first one and probably less for this one.  I'm really enjoying knitting continental style – things just go a bajillion times faster which makes me happy of course, because I can get through more projects.

Summarized knit list:

4 baby blankets.
2 hats
fetching for MEEEE
2 my so called scarves
1 scarf left from my xmas knit list (I finished everything except this ONE item).

This really doesn't seem too bad.  The baby blankets are the worst part of the list, 2 will be done in the usual way, but the one that is for my friend's daughter's baby is going to be done in individual squares, 6"x6", so 36 of these to do (eep!) but with my new knitting skillz it shouldn't be that big of a drag.

right now I'm praying that the consulting class ends soon so I can grab lunch with my friend Josie before running home to wind up some yarn and get on the airport shuttle bus so I can get my behind home.

I'm concerned about JC getting home because I-78 has been closed due to the snow and that is one of the major roads that we take to get to Congers.  Hopefully he knows an alternate :/

I will have some pictures to post on Monday.  Have a great weekend everyone :D

I've started New Age Amazon's pair of fetchings.  I'm half done the first glove.

I've put most of my friend Carolyn's cook book together, "Cooking with your right arm tied behind your back".  It's a super late birthday gift.  And I mean, Super late – oct 29th.

I still have another cookbook to assemble for my friend Cait and I have been doing that as I've been doing Carolyn's.

Mead has come out with printer friendly sheets of note cards which is awesome and allows me to print the recipes right onto the notecards.  I have way too many recipes for baked goods and have been looking for casseroles and entrees.  I'm definitely going to include ●ßoηi†a.in.Ρink●'s amazing salsa recipe. (which i'm going to make some of tonight!!)

Hopefully everyone is managing to stay warm.  We had a 40 degree temperature drop in pittsburgh yesterday, the high was 70 degrees and it went down to the low 30s by nightfall.  How nice.  I love this city.

My friend dropped off a lb of decaf sumatra whole bean from starbucks.  it's for the statistics' departmental secretary who is a wonderful person and i find myself spending a lot of time just gabbing in her office – at least 45 minutes each day!  Her birthday is today, so Kim, if you've found this, happy birthday!

I need to find things to wrap little gift baskets in, so luckily, New Age Amazon and I are heading to Micahels, so I can hopefully get a basket and some plastic wrap as well as some more wrapping paper from target.

I'm almost done my shopping.  What a relief!
